NGCP or Distribution Utility: Grid or distribution connection requirements for projects connecting to the transmission or distribution network.
CAAP: Height clearance for wind turbines, transmission towers, and other tall structures that may affect navigable airspace.
NTC: Telecommunications clearance where project infrastructure may interfere with telecommunications facilities.
PCG, MARINA, and PPA: Navigation, maritime safety, or port clearances for offshore or coastal renewable energy projects.
Other national or local permits that may be required based on project-specific environmental, technical, or land-use considerations.

What is a Certificate of Energy Projects of National Significance (CEPNS)?

The Certificate of Energy Projects of National Significance (CEPNS) is a designation issued by the Department of Energy (DOE) to qualifying energy projects that enables expedited and, where applicable, simultaneous processing of government permits under Executive Order No. 30 and applicable DOE issuances.

CEPNS is not a permit, license, or environmental clearance. It does not exempt a project from obtaining all required permits and approvals or from complying with applicable environmental, social, stakeholder engagement, Indigenous Peoples' rights, and Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) requirements. Project proponents remain responsible for securing all applicable regulatory approvals and fulfilling their legal, environmental, and social obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
